Jeannie Elizabeth McGee

December 25, 1943 — March 8, 2008

Jeannie Elizabeth Romano McGee, 64, of Orange, died Saturday, March 8, 2008, at Memorial Hermann Baptist Hospital.
Funeral service will be 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 12, 2008, at St. Francis Catholic Church. Reverend Tom Phelan, Reverend Joseph P. Daleo, Reverend Steve Testa and Deacon Harvey DuBois will officiate.
Visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, at Claybar Funeral Home Chapel in Orange with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m.
Jeannie was a lifelong resident of Orange; she was born December 25, 1943.
She taught in the West Orange Cove School District as a 1st grade teacher for 32 years, she spent 6 more years teaching 5th grade American History at Orangefield Jr. High School. She was currently working for Lamar-LSCO as an ACE mentor.
She graduated from St.Mary's High School in 1962 and then went on to earn a Bachelor of Science degree from Lamar University in Beaumont.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Dominic John Romano and Isabel Testa-Romano.
She will forever be loved and remembered by her daughter, Lorri Bonin and husband Brooks of Orange, her son, Chad McGee and wife Amanda of Boling, TX; two granddaughters, Ashton Elizabeth Bonin and Madison Marie Bonin; her sisters, Marie Zeto and husband Frank, Rosalie Daves and husband Ray, Theresa Foster and husband Tom, Donna Chu and husband Dr. John Chu, Johnnie Magliolo and husband Charles and Angie Romano-Cook and husband Ryan.
Serving as pallbearers will be Mike Zeto, Nick Zeto, Andrew Cook, Matthew Cook, Brian Waguespack, Brent Waguespack, Joey Romano and Chris Romano.
Serving as honorary pallbearers will be will be Frank Zeto, Tom Foster, Ray Daves, Charles Magliolo, Burnell Waguespack, Johnnny Lucia,
Brud Suire, Marion Tindle, Joseph Savignano, Jesse Bonin and Bobby Granger.
Jeannie was a very active member of St. Francis Catholic Community. She served as a Eucharistic Minister as well as being a member of the Women of St. Francis and the A.C.T.S. community. She was a member of the Delta Kappa Gamma Sorority and the Alpha Delta Kappa teacher sorority. She enjoyed cooking, exercise, reading and doing puzzles. She loved to dance. She was a very dedicated teacher who loved her students dearly.
Memorial contributions to St. Mary's Catholic School and the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation are welcomed.
