Jerrie Nell Cady
Jerrie Nell Cady, 91, of Nederland, Texas, passed away on February 18, 2025, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 1, 2025, at Claybar Funeral Home in Bridge City. Officiating will be Reverend Keith Royal. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Orange.
Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday, February 28, 2025, at Claybar Funeral Home in Bridge City.
Born in Koffman, Texas, on July 14, 1933, she was the daughter of Charles H. Kennon and Margaret Ethel (Penney) Kennon. Jerrie was known to her loved ones as "Maw Maw," a name that reflected her nurturing spirit and the love she shared with those around her. Jerrie was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Bridge City, where she formed meaningful connections and demonstrated her commitment to her faith. She was always loving and had a generous heart, often inviting friends and family to share meals filled with her favorite dishes. Her artistic side shone through in her hobbies; she enjoyed painting and always had an eye for creativity. As a big dog lover, Jerrie found joy in the companionship of her pets, and she surrounded herself with beauty by collecting flowers, particularly red and pink roses. Jerrie's collection of stuffed animals brought warmth and laughter, reflecting her playful personality. Jerrie leaves behind a legacy of love and care, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Margaret Kennon; husband, Bill Cady; sons, Mark Cady and James Cady; and daughter, Deborah Caldwell.
She is survived by her son, Stephen Cady; grandson, Devin Caldwell; numerous nieces, nephews, and other loving family and friends.
