Rusty Wallace July 3, 2025
Jerry and my dad (Bill Wallace) were close and grew up together in East Texas. I have many fond memories of Jerry as a kid. He and Dad would go hunting or fishing on their place up in Colmesneil and often I went as well. Sitting around on that porch in the evening and listening to the stories provided some of my fondest childhood memories. Jerry could tell a good story. He was always warm and friendly and upbeat and ready to be a little mischievous - and pulled that out of Dad like no one else could. Later on, after Dad was gone, Mom and I still talked with Jerry from time to time or visited with him. His light shown so very brightly. I don't know a better man. Peace be with you, Jerry - and say hi to Dad for me...
