Jerry Clayton Davis
Jerry Clayton Davis, 76, of Bridge City, passed away on December 28, 2022, peacefully at home.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday January 7, 2023, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Officiating will be Reverend David Millner, previously of Calvary Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Orange.

Visitation will be from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Friday January 6, 2023, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.

Born in Orange, Texas, on July 10, 1946, he was the son of R.C. Davis and Betty Davis. Jerry was a veteran of the United States Army, he later worked as an engineer, eventually going on to retire from Gulf States Energy and then S&T International. In his free time, he enjoyed watching Clint Eastwood and John Wayne movies, working on his computer and reading many books. Jerry loved to frequent the coffee shops with his many friends and go to town for breakfast. He was also a Mason, his home lodge being the Madison Lodge #126 in Orange, Texas. Jerry was a wonderful man and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, R.C. and Betty Davis; and grandson, Dustin Thibodeaux.

He is survived by his daughters, Tammy Davis, Melissa Richard and husband Leroy, and Erica Davis; grandchildren, Winter Edwards and husband Justin, Ashley Hebert and husband James, Joseph Travis, and Aryn Castalano and husband Devin.; many great-grandchildren; brother, Tim Davis; nephew, David Jonathan Davis and wife Dolce; as well as numerous other loving family and friends.

Serving as pallbearers will be David Davis, Joseph Travis, Leroy Richard, Jr., Devin Castalano, Justin Edwards, Willie McNeal, David Soileau, and Dennis LeBlanc. Honorary pallbearer will be Tim Davis.

Jerry was indeed a wonderful man. He was a rock for so many people in his community and his close friends. His love and friendship will be missed by so many and I'm sure his kindness will be rewarded tenfold in Heaven where he is living pain free now. Fly high Jerry, you earned your wings.
