Jerry Wayne Franklin, Sr.
Jerry Wayne Franklin, Sr., 74, of Orange, Texas, passed away on March 1, 2023, peacefully at home.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Sunday 5, 2023, at Claybar Funeral Home in Bridge City. Officiating will be Jim Blackwell. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Orange.
Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Saturday, March 4, 2023, at Claybar Funeral Home in Bridge City.
Born in Pineland, Texas, on December 8, 1948, he was the son of William “Willie” Franklin and Viola Parnell-Franklin. Jerry was a loving husband to his wife Donna of over 40 years and always worked hard to provide for his family. Jerry had a loving and kind soul. His easy going, pleasant personality made him unforgettable. Jerry loved being outdoors and enjoyed fishing and sometimes hunting, even though he wasn’t really good at it. He enjoyed tinkering and working with his hands and loved his classic cars. Jerry was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather and will be deeply missed by everyone who knew him.
He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Donna Gayle Franklin; son, Jerry Wayne Franklin, Jr.; and brothers and sisters.
He is survived by his son, Michael Franklin and wife Misty of Orangefield; grandchildren, Kade Franklin, Kooper Franklin, Matthew Franklin, Alyssa Duhon, and Baylee Duhon; great-grandchildren, Alex Franklin and Lydia Franklin; as well as many other loving family and friends.
Serving as pallbearers will be Chuck Cobb, Kade Franklin, Matt Bulls, Duane Whittington, Johnny Franklin, Randy Hubbard. Serving as honorary pallbearers are Keith Johnson and Kooper Franklin.

Jerry was my uncle. I am Johnny Franklin Jr. When I was maybe five or six years old. I was riding on the handle bars of his bicycle when my foot got stuck in the front wheel spokes. We both turned a flip on the main road through Pineland, w hitch at the time was a gravel road. Jerry was scared to death thinking that my father (Sonny) was going to whoop his butt
