Funeral services for Jerson Tizol, 15, of Beaumont will be held Sunday, November 13, 2011 at 5:00 p.m in the sanctuary of First Baptist Church, 900 Calder Avenue in Beaumont. Visitation will begin at the church at 3:00 p.m. Sunday. Burial will be at 11 a.m. Monday, in the Haven of Rest Cemetery, located 6 miles west of Major Drive on Hwy 90 College St.. Friends and family who wish may either gather at Claybar Kelley-Watkins Funeral Home, 1155 N. 11th St. in Beaumont, by 9:30 am Monday to process to the graveside service or meet at the cemetery at 11:00 a.m.
Jerson was born on September 6, 1996, in Baytown, TX to Dora and Ramon Tizol. He was the youngest of five children. Jerson was a 10th grade honors student at Westbrook High School where he was taking pre-AP and dual credit classes.
He played nose guard position for Westbrook?s freshman football team. He?d begun playing football in the 7th grade at Odom Academy where he also ran track and was awarded ?All Around Best Athelete? at Odom?s 8th grade graduation ceremony.
Jerson was a member of FFA at Westbrook and a member of the youth group at First Baptist Church in Beaumont. He?d previously been a member of the Bible Club at Odom.
There were many things Jerson enjoyed doing - going to the movies with friends, weightlifting, going to the park and just being outdoors. He loved lasagna and pizza!
Friends remember Jerson as a charismatic, positive, upbeat person and his dream of doing well academically and eventually continuing his studies with the hope of one day moving to California, and being able to buy his parents a new home.
Jerson is survived by his loving parents, Ramon and Dora Tizol of Beaumont; two brothers, Josue and Sergio Tizol of Beaumont; and two sisters, Alejandra and Martha Tizol also of Beaumont.
