Jessie A. Brumley Sr, 84, of Kountze went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, October 7, 2017 in Lumberton, Texas. A service honoring his life and faith will be held on Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. in the Claybar Kelley-Watkins Chapel in Beaumont. Pastor Jack Bell of Grace and Truth Gospel Tabernacle will officiant. Interment will follow at Haven of Rest Cemetery in Beaumont.
Jessie was born September 3, 1933 in Marthaville, Louisiana to the late Ivy L. and Lessie (Green) Brumley. A resident of Kountze and Southeast Texas for 42 years, Jessie was a former resident of Louisiana. He was a retired iron worker with the Iron Workers’ Local and a former Deacon and faithful member of Grace and Truth Gospel Tabernacle in Beaumont. Jessie loved gospel music and cooking for his friends and family, especially barbecue.
Jessie was a faithful and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend.
He was preceded in death by his wife Robbie Nell Brumley; sisters, Helen Pate, Lurline Corley, Eartes Cates; and brothers, Harold, Laurence, Canie and Jack Brumley.
Those left to cherish his memory include 4 daughters, Karen Stephens and husband, Charles, Terri Johnson, Julie Harris and husband, Ronald, Rachel Svoboda and husband, Mark; 2 sons, Jessie Brumley Jr. and wife, Lynn, Marrion Brumley and wife, Edwina; 15 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt appreciation to Pastor Jack Bell and the flock of Grace and Truth Gospel Tabernacle for their constant love and support.
