JoAnn Dugas, 74, of Orange, Texas, passed away on January 31, 2020, at Pinehurst Nursing Home in Orange.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m., Monday, February 3, 2020, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Officiating will be Reverend Jeff Bell. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Orange.
Visitation will be held prior to the service, beginning at 12:00 p.m.
Born in Lafayette, Louisiana, on September 7, 1945, she was the daughter of Neville Dugas and Arlise (Hoffpauir) Dugas Labby. JoAnn was a faithful member of First Christian Church of Orange. She was passionate about volunteering and enjoyed donating her time at North Early Learning Center. JoAnn was known as “the Mayor of Pinehurst Nursing Home,” and spent 20 years there. She loved painting watercolors and paint-by-numbers, word find books, cooking, and family get-togethers. JoAnn will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Neville Dugas and Arlise Dugas Labby; her first husband, Linton Joseph Cormier; and her second husband Linick “Blackie” Cormier.
She is survived by her children, Sandra Jones and husband C. L. of Mauriceville, and Kenneth Wayne Dugas and wife Beth of Orange; her grandchildren, Curlis Jones and fiancé Brandi, Eric Jones and wife Torii, C. J. Jones, Kameron, Madison, and Jeannie; her great-grandchild, Jaxon; her expected great-grandchild, EmmaLynn Grace; and her sisters, Mary Louis Bordelon of Marksville, Louisiana and Donna Louise Landry of Carencro, Louisiana.
Serving as pallbearers will be Kenneth Dugas, Curlis Jones, Eric Jones, C. L. Jones, Brandon Walters, and Dustin Hartsfield.
