Joe Ann Comer, 91, of Beaumont, passed away on October 20, in Beaumont.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, October 26, at Claybar Kelley-Watkins Funeral Home in Beaumont. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Beaumont.
Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Monday, October 25, at Claybar Kelley-Watkins Funeral Home in Beaumont.
Born in Beaumont, on January 14, 1930, Joe Ann was the daughter of Sereal Carr and Corine (Jackson) Carr. She worked for Southwestern Bell as an operator for 30 years before retiring to enjoy the simple pleasures that life had to offer. Joe was a long-time resident of Beaumont and a member of Amelia Baptist Church, where she treated every member as part of her family. She was a strong-willed woman that loved to travel with her husband around in their motor home, go camping, and even cooking a delicious meal for her family and friends. Joe Ann will be dearly missed by all those who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 64 years, Bobby Comer; parents, Sereal and Corine Carr; and her brother, Charles Carr.
Joe Ann is survived by her children, Linda Sory and husband Kevin of Nome, and Richard Comer of Sour Lake; grandchildren, John Comer and wife Brenda, James Comer and wife Amy, Christie Comer, Angela Maletesta and husband Bobby, Justin Sory and wife Sarah, and Lisa Coon and husband Brent; great-grandchildren, Erin Jeffcoat, Peter Dahn, Kyler Fore, Roman Coon, Lillian Sory, AJ Comer, Claire Comer, Hayden Comer, and Camden Sory on the way; as well as, nieces, Dina Carr and Dana Buchanan and husband Kevin.
Serving as pallbearers will be John Comer, James Comer, Hayden Comer, Kyler Fore, Peter Dahn, and Justin Sory.
