A Mass of Christian Burial for Joe Magliolo, Jr. will be at 4:00 p.m. Monday, August 27, 2007 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Beaumont with Reverend Khue Bui officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
His loving family will receive guests beginning at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday at Claybar Kelley-Watkins Funeral Home. A Rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday.
Joe was born October 16, 1930 in Beaumont to Joe, Sr. and Lena Magliolo and passed away August 23, 2007. He retired as a salesman for Giglio Distributing after more than 30 years of service and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He is a past member of Knights of Columbus #951, Travelers Protection Association, and a member at St. Joseph Catholic Church. He loved everything ?western? and will be greatly missed at his favorite game of ?cheating dominos?.
Joe is preceded in death by his parents; son, Glenn Magliolo; sisters, Jennie Magliolo and Benita Kinsworthy; brother, Anthony Magliolo; and granddaughter, April Kay Baer.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Emily Magliolo; daughters, Sharon Baer and husband, Roy, Jr. of Lumberton, Marilyn Moore and husband, Bobby also of Lumberton, and Mary Kelly of Beaumont; daughter-in-law, Cindy Berges of Florida; grandchildren, Kristy Lindsey, Misty Orchid, Tiffany Baer, Ashley Baer, Danielle Moore, Cody Moore, Sarah Berges and Curtis Berges; great-grandchildren, Fallon Cornett, Donnie Orchid, Jamie Orchid and Zander Lindsey; sisters, Lucille Royer of Lumberton and Sarah Magliolo of Beaumont; brothers, Paul Magliolo and Buddy Magliolo both of Beaumont; sisters-in-law, JoAnn Austin of Sour Lake, Liz Burlin of Baytown, Lucille Magliolo of Beaumont, and Hazel Wallace of Gladewater, Texas; brother-in-law, Charles Burlin and wife, Patricia of Tennessee; numerous nieces and nephews; his three very best friends for over 70 years, Joe ?Ba-Bee? Garza and wife, Bobbie, C.J. ?The Blimp? Saleme and wife, Linda and Jerry Neely; and also ?The Club? at McDonalds.
Joe?s family would like to extend many special thanks to Dr. Arfeen and Dr. Stout along with their staff as well as the North Wing Staff at Harbor Hospice and the North Wing staff at Memorial Hermann Baptist Hospital for all of the compassion and care given to Joe during the last several weeks.
