John Anthony Soileau

John A. Soileau, 83, was born August 7, 1928 to Joseph and Agnes Ardoin Soileau in Mamou, LA and passed away October 5, 2011 at his residence in Kountze surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Soileau served his country in the U.S. Navy on active duty as well as in the Naval Reserves. He was a longtime resident of Kountze and retired from Quantum where he was employed as a boiler operator.
A gathering of family and friends will begin at 11:00 am on Saturday, October 8 at Claybar Kelley-Watkins Funeral Home prior to the rosary, officiated by Clay Grant at 2:30 pm. Funeral services will start at 3:00 pm, with Michael Soileau officiating.
John is survived by his children, Michael Soileau and wife, Rhonda, Shawn Soileau and wife, Sheila, Shirley Soileau Weyler and Todd Soileau and wife, Kristi; grandchildren, Beth, Amy, Jason, Andrea, Shawna, Anthony, Brandon, Amber and Joseph Soileau, Travis, Jeffrey and Jennifer Weyler, Jamie Laughlin and Nikki McGee; 6 great-grandchildren; brother, Jean Soileau; sister, Belva Soileau and daughter-in-law, Paula Soileau. Mr. Soileau was preceded in death by his wife, Bobbie Soileau; son, Gary Soileau; his parents; brother, Bruce Soileau; stepsister, Essie Young and step-father, Newton Chaumont.
