John B. Heiselbetz, 87, was born April 15, 1926 in Beaumont to Herman and Lena Heiselbetz Sr. and passed away June 11, 2013 at Baptist Hospital. He was a life-time resident of Beaumont, owning and operating his service station on Mariposa (now MLK) for many years. J.B. served his country as a machinist mate (MM3C) with the US Navy during World War II. JB was stationed on a battleship in the Sea of Japan for 16 months in the Asiatic-Pacific Area.
J.B. is survived by his brothers, Herman Heiselbetz Jr. and wife, Aggie of Fred, TX and Lloyd Heiselbetz and wife, Marie of Pensacola, FL. He was preceded in death by his parents; his four brothers; Clem, Linn, Otis and Earl Heiselbetz and his sister, Helen Martin.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Saturday, June 15 at Claybar Kelley-Watkins Funeral Home officiated by Pastor Jeff Bell. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park at 3:30 PM. A gathering of friends and family will be Saturday from 12:00 Noon until the service at 2:00 PM at the funeral home.
