John W. Welborn, Jr., 84, of Orange, Texas, passed away on June 2, 2020, in Port Arthur, Texas.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m., Friday, June 5, 2020, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Officiating will be Pastor Dale Lee of the Cowboy Church of Orange County. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves.
Visitation will be held prior to the service, beginning at 11:30 a.m., at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.
Born in Belzoni, Mississippi, on October 29, 1935, he was the son of John William Welborn, Sr. and Mandy (Musgrove) Welborn. John was a retired Merchant Marine. He was a faithful member of the Cowboy Church of Orange County. In John’s spare time, he enjoyed being outdoors and fishing. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Mandy Welborn.
He is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Beatrice (Lee) Welborn of Orange; his stepson, James Musgrove and wife Lynette of Port Neches; his grandchildren, Scott Musgrove and wife April of Cypress, and Michael Musgrove and wife Jayme of Port Neches; as well as his five great-grandchildren.
Serving as pallbearers will be James Musgrove, Scott Musgrove, Michael Musgrove, Mason Musgrove, Robert Lee, and Gene Moody. Honorary pallbearer is McCoy Musgrove.
