Johnnie M "Pete" Linder, Sr. of Bridge City, died on January 13, 2009, at his home. Funeral services will be Thursday, January 15, 2009, at 2:00 p.m. at Claybar Funeral Home in Bridge City. George Stone will officiate. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens near Bridge City.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, January 14, 2009, from 5 until 8 p.m at Claybar Funeral Home in Bridge City.
Mr. Linder was born on November 13, 1919, in Randolph, LA to Charles O. and Artie Byrom Linder. He worked at Ameripol Synpol for 33 years as an operator. He was a veteran of WWII, stationed in Puerto Rico and obtained the rank of staff sergeant. Johnnie was a member of the First Baptist Church in Bridge City.
He is preceded in death by his parents; infant son, Gary Leo; sister, Thelma Thurman and brothers, Garland "Sam" Linder, Cecil "Cotton" Linder, and Owen Linder; and granddaughter, Kim Linder Arnaud.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Floy Linder; sons, Johnnie "Skipper" Linder and wife Verna, and Larry Linder and his wife, Donna; sisters, Ruth Platt, Helen Weaver, Marie Miller and husband Lawrence and sister-in-law, Grace Linder; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Larry Linder, Jr., Brian Linder, Joseph Gamble, James Thurman,
Butch Thurman, and Tony Arnaud.
