Jonathan Kelly Bloom, 50, of Orange passed away Tuesday, June 14, 2011, at M.D. Anderson in Houston.
Funeral Services will be 3:00 p.m. Saturday, June 18, 2011, at Claybar Funeral Home Chapel in Orange with Reverend Rusty Fisher officiating. Cremation will follow under the direction of Claybar Haven of Rest Crematory in Bridge City.
Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. Saturday prior to the service.
Born in Wurzburg, Germany on June 13, 1961, Jonathan was the son of Norman Andrew Bloom and Robbie Carolyn Smith Bloom. He was a foreman at Cypress Bayou Industrial Painting.
Jonathan is survived by his wife, Mary Bloom of Orange; mother, Carolyn Smith of Orange; four brothers, Andy Neitz of San Antonio, Eric Bloom of Orange, Newel Shipley of Vidor, Jody Dorman of Orange; and grandson, Sean Caswell of Orange.
Jonathan was an avid fisherman and hunter. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed taking pictures of animals in their natural habitat. He was a great carpenter and woodworker and enjoyed going to garage sales with his wife. His family was special to him and he loved them very much.
