Jose Savas Sanchez

Jose Savas Barrera Sanchez, 87, of Orange, died, Tuesday, September 18, 2007, in Port Arthur.
Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 22, 2007, at Claybar Funeral Home Chapel in Orange. Reverend Joseph P. Daleo of St. Mary Catholic Church in Orange will officiate. Burial to follow at St. Mary?s Catholic Cemetery in Orange.
Visitation will be 5:00-8:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m.
Mr. Sanchez was born February 14, 1920, in Beaumont, TX, to Leon and Gehoviev Sanchez.
Mr. Sanchez served his country in the U.S. Army and was a World War II Veteran.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leon and Gehoviev Sanchez and daughter Mary Lee Sanchez.
He is survived by his wife, Josephine P. Sanchez, daughters, Rose Sanchez, Marie Ibarra and husband Ozzie, Barbara Buntyn and husband John and Lou Diaz and husband Martin; son, James Sanchez and wife Frances; six grandchildren, three great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Surviving him also are his brother, Joe Escobedo of Port Arthur; sister, Jovita Collazo of Nederland and brother in law, Moshe Pereg of Beverly Hills, CA.
Serving as pallbearers will be John Buntyn, Martin Diaz, Ozzie Ibarra, Joe Escobedo, Pete Cortez and Thomas Cassidy.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jimmy Cassidy, Chris Wright, John Buntyn III and Ben Wright.
