Joseph C. "Jay" Campbell, 77, of Orange, Texas, died on July 27, 2009.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, July 31, 2009, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Henry Catholic Church in Bridge City with Reverend Steven Leger officiating.
Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens near Bridge City.
Visitation will be from 5:00-9:00 p.m. Thursday with a rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. at Claybar Funeral Home in Bridge City.
Joseph was born on July 20, 1932, in Abbeville, Louisiana. He was the son of George W. Campbell and Lucia Robicheaux Campbell. Joseph served in the National Guard and was also a member of St. Henry Catholic Church.
Joseph was preceded in death by his wife, Rose Campbell.
He is survived by his son, Joey Campbell and his wife Mel of Bridge City; daughter, Katherine Ann Karr and her husband Rogers of Spring, Texas; five grandchildren, Misty Morawski, Nathan Karr, Aaron Campbell, Jayna Bourdier, Jeana Campbell; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was also survived by his brother, Minos Campbell of Huntsville, Alabama; sisters, Betty Kennedy of Marrero, Louisiana, Shirley Arceneaux of Mauriceville; and special friend, Bob Lennie.
Serving as Pallbearers will be Joey Campbell, Adam Stout, Aaron Campbell, Nathan Karr, Clay Bourdier Tyler Morawski, and Brandon Campbell Morawski.
