Joshua Vargas
Joshua Vargas, 20, of Bridge City, Texas, passed away on April 15, 2023, at his home.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, April 22, 2023, at Claybar Funeral Home in Bridge City. Cremation will follow under the direction of Claybar Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, at Claybar Funeral Home in Bridge City.
Joshua was born on November 5, 2002, in Port Arthur, Texas. He worked in construction for STI Group, but in his spare time, Joshua enjoyed fishing and listening to his favorite music. Joshua had an infectious smile and a great sense of humor. He enjoyed hanging out with his friends and his little dog, Taco. Joshua especially loved his family and looked forward to family gatherings on holidays and other special events. His family and friends will cherish the memories they have of Joshua and will miss him dearly.
He is preceded in death by his great-grandmother, Eugenia Aguilar; and great-grandfather, José Jesus Diaz.
He is survived by his parents, Mario and Gloria Vargas; grandparents, Flor and Jose Aguilar, and Eva and Rafael Vargas; siblings, Aiden Vargas and Logan Vargas; his loving aunts and uncles, the Aguilar, McMains, Gutierrez, Labrada, Gardenhire, Vargas, Dionne, Shaffer, and Janak families, as well as numerous other family and friends.

Chinooo!!! You are so loved my baby! The amount of ppl you had to come see you was heart filling! While helping plan everything I was worried I didn’t do enough or I needed to buy more flowers and baby they filled you with them! You my Angel made this all happen and run smoothly for us as a family! I am hurting but I am also smiling bc you always are the one to spread love and it showed! Words cannot express the love we have for you. From your good morning Tia to your I love you kisses. You had a beautiful heart and infectious smile. You were the best of us all. I admired you for the way you loved and adored your Mom. The way you respected and cared for your Dad and brothers. I will miss you terribly but I know you are looking down from heaven with Abueli.
My most memorable memory of Joshua is from when he was a baby. Joshua was always smiling. He hardly cried but even when he did, it seemed like he was laughing. I will always remember his beautiful face and smile.

You were special and loved in a million ways. I could sit here and write a book about you even though time was always limited but you were just that good of a nephew. I remember going to chipotle and watching your passion to becoming a responsible young adult. I also remember all your energetic greetings with a big smile on your face that brought happiness to anyone having a bad day. I remember when your car broke down and without hesitation I was there to help you as you never let your Titi down. You were her fall to nephew when we were going out of town not by choice but by the love she has for you. I remember the last time I saw you at the girls birthday party and even though I was having a stressful day I wish I would have said more but you did say what’s up Tio and ended it with I love you Tio as usual. I can keep going and going but you will not be forgotten. You will be the reason why there is a purpose tomorrow to laugh and be joyful through any stressful day. I have came up with the Joshu Greeting every night that will be a rule in our house as long as I live. That greeting will consist of saying I love you to everyone in the house before going to bed.
