Joyce Marie Manuel Davis, 79, of West Orange, died Friday, May 23, 2008, at Baptist Hospital in Orange.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, May 26, 2008, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Reverend James M. Burkhart, pastor of St. Luke the Evangelist Catholic Church in Houston, will serve as officiant.
Burial will follow at Niblett's Bluff Cemetery in Vinton, Louisiana.
Visitation will be 5-9 p.m. Sunday with a rosary recited at 7:00 p.m.
Born in Vinton, Louisiana on December 9, 1928, Mrs. Davis was the daughter of Lawrence and Aileen Trahan Manuel. She had lived in the Orange area since 1950, was a homemaker and co-owner of Davis Appliance.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Morris A. Davis; brother, Austin Manuel; and sister, Ethel Biscotti.
Survivors include her daughters, Jeanette LeLeaux of Bridge City, Phyllis Hennigan and her husband, Thomas, of Burkeville; sons, Marion Beard and his wife, Sandra, of Seabrook, Phillip Beard and his wife, Angie, of Orangefield.
Also surviving are sisters, Erline Dronette of Carlyss, Louisiana, Elaine Armour of DeRidder, Louisiana and Shirley Scott of Orange; brother, Fulton Manuel of Vinton; grandchildren, Paige Bigler, Shane LeLeaux, Courtney Phernetton, Jason Beard, Kelsey Beard, Kris Beard, Paul Hennigan; and six great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Jimmy McKee, Darrin Bigler, Shane LeLeaux, Paul Hennigan, Jason Beard and Kris Beard.
Honorary pallbearers will be Fulton Manuel and Carl Dronette.
