Joy Hembree Woodard, 80, born in Fayetteville, Arkansas went to meet the Lord Sunday, May 1, 2011.

Funeral Services will be at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 4, 2011 at Claybar Funeral Home in Bridge City. Officiating will be Reverend Bob Boone of First Baptist Church and Brother Russell Duplantis. A graveside service will follow at 1:30 p.m. at Davis Cemetery in Kirbyville.

A gathering of family and friends will be from 6 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Woodard is preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Dalton Woodard; parents, James and Lillie Mae Hembree; brother, Milford Paul Hembree and niece, Billie Penny.

She leaves behind her beloved children, James Lynn Woodard and wife, Connie of Bridge City, Sheryl Ann Taylor and husband, Mickey of Bridge City, Paula Imogene Duplantis and husband Russell of Kirbyville and Mary Thelma Ellis of Deweyville and grandchildren, Adam Lynn Woodard, Paul Thomas Woodard, John Robert Woodard, Joshua Glen Taylor, Joy Adalee Taylor, Mark Henry Duplantis, Lillie Mae Duplantis Parker, Charles Allen LeDoux, Kayleigh Ellis and Kyle Ellis. She is also survived by her great grandchildren, Isaac Glenn Taylor and Caleb Paul Woodard; brother, Noble Hembree and wife, Clemintine of Fayetteville, Arkansas; brother-in-law, Roger Woodard of Azel and niece, Sue O?Kelley of Dallas.

Mrs. Woodard moved to Orange in 1943 and graduated from Lutcher Stark High School in 1948. She worked at JcPenny, First National Bank and Baptist Orange Memorial Hospital. She was also a member of First Baptist Church in Bridge City where she worked with the kindergarten bible school, Vacation Bible School and the Girls Auxiliary Jr. Training Union in Orange.

Serving as pallbearers will be Adam Woodard, Paul Woodard, Charles LeDoux, Joshua Taylor, Mark Duplantis and Kyle Ellis. John Woodard will be serving as an honorary pallbearer.
