Funeral services for Juanita R. Townsend, 90, of Beaumont will be held on Friday, February 15, 2008, at 11:00 a.m. in the Claybar Kelley-Watkins Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor Neil Rogers will officiate and interment will follow in the Forest Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery. The visitation will be Thursday between 6:00 and 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Townsend was born June 29, 1917 in Joyce, LA to Wayne and Florence Ross and passed away on February 12, 2008, in Beaumont, TX. She was a member of the South Park Order of Eastern Star and retired from Sears after being employed for over 40 years. She will be remembered by many as the Director of the fifth grade Sunday School Department at First Baptist Church for 25 years. Mrs. Townsend loved her family, especially her grandchildren. Her husband, Estes Townsend, parents and son, Wayne R. Townsend, preceded her in death. She is survived by son, Don E. Townsend and wife Janet of Beaumont, six grandchildren and many great grandchildren.
