Juanita Sherman Hoffpauir

Juanita Sherman Hoffpauir, 89, of Orange, died Saturday, March 13, 2010.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 16, 2010, at Claybar Funeral Home Chapel in Orange, with the Reverend Lynn Ashcraft, officiating.

Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens near Bridge City.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Hoffpauir was born January 20, 1921, the daughter of Mary Annie Berry and Thomas Wriley Sherman.

She received her nursing degree from Hotel Dieu in Beaumont. She was a registered nurse having last worked for the American Bridge Division of US Steel, retiring after 32 years of service.

Mrs. Hoffpauir was a member of McDonald Memorial Baptist Church in West Orange and was a life member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Chapter #214, where she was a Past Worthy Advisor of the Rainbow Girls.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Roy Harder and Roy Hoffpauir; infant daughter, Margaret Madge Harder; and brothers, T.W. Sherman and Carl Sherman.

She is survived by her sister, Yeavon Frenzel of Orange; step-son, Jerry Hoffpauir and his wife, Bobbie Jean of Conroe; step grandchildren, Dianne Leal, Jimmy Hoffpauir; nieces, Sharon Johnson and her husband, Bruce, Delores Frenzel, Charlotte Gulledge and her husband, Oran, Sandra Castille, Cynthia Ruth Walp; nephews, Tommy Sherman, Mike Sherman; and numerous great nieces and nephews.

Serving as pallbearers will be Bruce Johnson, Clayton Johnson, Brennan Dobbs, Lee Harris, Jerry Hoffpauir, C.A. Burnaman and R.W. Carter.
