Judith “Judy” Louise Hunt, 77, of Orange, passed away on May 27, 2020, in Beaumont.

Born in Joplin, Missouri, on November 11, 1942, she was the daughter of Harry Sackett and Emily (Diamond) Sackett. Judy was a faithful member of North Orange Baptist Church. She took great joy in spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren who were her number one and lovingly referred to her as “Granny”. Judy enjoyed playing Bingo and Canasta, solving word searches and dancing the jitterbug with her beloved husband. She loved trying out new recipes and baking – always decorating her children’s birthday cakes as they grew up. Above all else in her life, her family was the most important and treasured thing to her, holding them near to her heart and serving as the glue to hold them together in times of need. She will be deeply missed by all those who she came to know and love.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Emily Sackett; and loving husband of 51 years, Barry Hunt.
She is survived by children, Kristy Monceaux and husband Jerald of Little Cypress, and Michael Hunt and wife Lauren of Vidor; grandchildren, Blake Hunt, Kaitlynn Hunt, Mason Monceaux, Marcus Monceaux, and Makayla Hunt; great-grandchild, Peyton Hunt; and brother, Jim Sackett and wife Treyce.
Serving as pallbearers will be Michael Hunt, Blake Hunt, Jerald Monceaux, Danny Young Jr., Cha Chee Sullivan, and Hunter Lewis. Serving as honorary pallbearer will be Jim Sackett.

My heart is broken as I read about this. Judy was my campfire leader years ago. I reconnected with her on Facebook and she came to my house a few years ago before we moved to buy mayhaw jelly. Such a sweet lady. Praying for her family.
