Judy Gayle Kelly Chandler

November 24, 1952 – February 5, 2025

Judy Gayle Kelly Chandler, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on February 5th at the age of 72. Born on November 24, 1952, in Orange, Texas, to Barbara Ella Smith Kelly and Earl Lemiel Kelley, Judy grew up surrounded by the love of her six siblings—Laura Ann, Carolyn Ann, Earlene, Stephen, Eloise, and Deborah Sue. Judy’s life was a testament to unconditional love and unwavering kindness. She had a unique gift for making everyone feel seen, heard, and cared for. Whether it was keeping her loved ones’ favorite snacks stocked, offering a ride to someone in need, or calling just to check in, she never missed an opportunity to show love in small but meaningful ways. She was a hardworking and dedicated woman, known for her strong work ethic by those who had the privilege of working alongside her. But her true passion was taking care of others—especially through cooking, hosting, and making sure everyone felt at home in her presence. Judy was the heart of every gathering, always ensuring there was enough food, laughter, and love to go around. Above all, Judy’s greatest pride and joy were her son, Michael, and her grandchildren, Bruce, Macy, and Maverick. She devoted her life to them, ensuring they always knew they were loved beyond measure. Judy’s faith was the foundation of her life, and she embodied the love and grace she believed in so deeply. She forgave easily, loved fully, and made every person she met feel important. She leaves behind a legacy of warmth, generosity, and selfless love that will live on in those who were blessed to know her. She is survived by her son, Michael Chandler, her cherished grandchildren, her siblings, and many nieces, nephews, and dear friends. She is preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Stephen Earl Kelley. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you honor Judy's legacy by showing kindness to those around you, listen closely, love deeply, and never hesitate to offer someone a Dr Pepper and a Reese’s.
