Judy Gail Guidry

Judy Gail Guidry, 80, peacefully passed away on December 27, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.

Born on August 20, 1944, in Orange, Texas, Judy was the daughter of Lester Lee "Bud" and Lucy Carolyn Corder. After graduating from West Orange High School in 1962, she spent much of her life living and raising her family across the United States, including Pittsburgh, PA; Jersey City, NJ; Columbus, OH; Washington, D.C.; San Jose, CA; and Auburn, CA, before returning to her hometown of Orange to retire.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents, her infant granddaughter Ella Guillot, her daughter-in-law Cathy Guillot, and her brother-in-law Leonard Breaux.

One of Judy’s greatest accomplishments was raising her three sons, whom she adored and cherished. She dedicated a significant part of her career to the financial industry, working as a banker and loan officer before retiring.

Judy’s loss is deeply felt by her large and loving family. She leaves behind her devoted husband, Jimmy Guidry, and her children: Stephen Guillot, Kelly Guillot, Curt and Marlo Guillot, Kacey and Wyatt Prejean, Lisa and John "Scooter" Carroll. Judy is also survived by her siblings: Bill Corder and Barbara, Bobby Corder and Mary, and Nancy Breaux. She was a proud grandmother to ten grandchildren: McLain, Grant, Carson, Caden, Gabriel, Phoebe, Delaney, Hope, Hayden, and Zoe.

Throughout her life, Judy was known for her unwavering compassion and generosity. She always put the needs of others before her own, offering a helping hand to anyone in need. Her legacy is one of love, kindness, strength, resilience, and selflessness, inspiring those who knew her.

Judy’s joy for life and her boundless energy made her a beloved friend to many. Her social circle was wide, and her friendships, rich and enduring. Whether it was sharing dinners, creative activities or Mustang football games, she immensely valued her friendships. Judy and Jimmy hosted several Swamp Pop shows in recent years, where Judy showcased her love for music, dancing, and community. She will be remembered for her vibrant spirit and her ability to light up any room with her smile.

A graceful, regal and beautiful woman both inside and out, Judy always made sure to leave her loved ones with a kiss on the cheek and a soft-spoken “Love you, my darlin’.” She was a constant source of support, offering a listening ear, a word of encouragement, or a reminder to trust in God’s plan.

Judy’s children and grandchildren were her pride and joy, and she was dotingly delighted to share their accomplishments and adventures with everyone she met. Judy’s spirit will live on through the love and memories she leaves behind.

Plans for a Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.Top of Form
