Judy Ellen (Frair) Herb
Judy Ellen (Frain) Herb, 80, of Orange, Texas, passed away peacefully on June 16, 2024, surrounded by loved ones.
Judy was born in Norwich, New York, on April 14, 1944. She was the third and last child of Walter J. Frair and Vivian (Potter) Frair. She was very involved in the Methodist Church growing up, singing in the church choir. Judy attended the University of Buffalo, where she met her Soulmate, Robert. She was the dutiful fiancé while Rob attended West Point, marrying him the day after his graduation in 1967.
After spending time in Germany and Georgia with the Army, Rob and Judy settled in Cheyenne, Wyoming, where they raised their daughters, Doni and Stephanie. Judy was a devoted wife and ardent stay-at-home mom. She was a talented craftswoman and seamstress, in addition to a chauffeur, cake decorator, musician, roller, and ice skater.
A 20-year stroke survivor, Judy and Rob attended several Stroke Camps and traveled around the country presenting hand-made West Point class crests and intarsias to surviving family members of Rob’s USMA classmates.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Vivian Frair; husband, Robert Herb; brother, Daniel; and grandson, Raistlin Teague.
She is survived by her daughters, Donielle Palmer of Fort Wayne, Indiana, and Stephanie Teague and husband, John, of Orange; granddaughters, Kristin Teague of Orange, and Kendra Palmer, DVM; and sister, Avis Dickinson.
Judy’s family would like to thank Elaine Steven and the entire staff of Compassion Hospice for the exceptional care and Loretta McManus for being such a wonderful companion to her after losing Rob.

Cremation will be held under the direction of Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Inurnment will be at West Point, New York.
