Julie Ann Hale

June 14, 1947 — June 13, 2011

Julie Ann Hale was born June 14, 1947 in Clarinda, Iowa to Paul and Chockey Hale. She was an inspiration to many, living a full life with cancer for the past 15 years. She passed away at the age of 63 on June 13, 2011, the day before her birthday.

Her family moved to Orange, Texas in 1952, where she graduated from Lutcher Stark High School in 1965. She received her B.S. in Elementary Education from North Texas State University in 1969 where she was a member of Delta Gamma Sorority. After graduation she received her certification in Early Childhood Development from the University of Texas at Austin.

After teaching at Dallas ISD, she moved to Houston and made it her home. She worked for Child Protective Services as a case worker before finding her passion in the design industry. She worked for JCS, ICF, McCoy and other companies where she made multiple life-long friends and gathered experience that prepared her to be the Resource Librarian for Gensler Architectural and Design Firm for the past 10 years.

Julie loved art, travel, animals, children and especially, her family and friends. Her positive and uplifting spirit endeared her to many people who were touched by her life. She was a vital part of many lives, young and old.

Julie loved and cared deeply for her family. She is preceded in death by her father, Paul E. Hale of Orange, Texas.
She is survived by her mother, Charlotte ?Chockey? Hale of Orange, Texas; her sister, Frieda Hale, D.D.S. of Houston and sister and brother-in-law, Patricia and Keith Weir of Orange, Texas.

She was a loving and supportive aunt to her nieces, their spouses and her nephew, Nikhi and Adam Young of Houston, Lindsey Nored of Salt Lake City, UT, Taylor and Casey Edwards of Dallas and Justin Weir of Dallas.

She was joyfully anticipating the arrival of her two great nephews this fall and will be their guardian angel.

Her family would especially like to thank Dr. Mike and the nurses at Southeast Texas Hospice for their excellent care and compassionate support.

A memorial service with a reception to follow will be held at Bradshaw-Carter Funeral Home, 1734 West Alabama in Houston, Texas on June 25, 2011 at 3:00 p.m.
