Karen Lee Phares, 84, of Bridge City, Texas, passed away on July 29, 2024, at home.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 7, 2024, at Triumph Church in Nederland. Officiating will be Bishop Randy Clark and Pastor Kirk Ellender.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 6, 2024, at Claybar Funeral Home in Bridge City, and will continue at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 7, 2024, at Triumph Church in Nederland.
Born in Houston, Texas, on December 29, 1939, she was the daughter of Maron Albert Bradley and Thelma (Bass) Bradley. Karen was known for her sweet spirit, unwavering faith, kindness, and dedication to Jesus. She had a profound love for people and always went above and beyond to ensure they had everything they needed and wanted. Her personality and loving nature touched the lives of all who knew her. In addition to her deep faith and commitment to serving others, Karen had a passion for painting, drawing, and creating beautiful flower arrangements. She generously shared her talents with her church community by making banners for Triumph Church in Nederland. Her favorite Bible verses were Genesis - Revelation, which reflected her strong belief. Karen's faith journey led her to participate in the church choir, serve in hospitality ministry, and involvement in the prison ministry alongside her late husband. Her dedication and enthusiasm shone through in every service as she worshiped her savior. Karen's presence will be deeply missed but her memory will forever live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.
She is preceded in death by her husband, John C. Phares; parents, Maron and Thelma Bradley; son, Douglas Ray Boehm; and great granddaughters, Noah and Hallee.
She is survived by her daughter, Judy Leonard and husband Mark; grandchildren, Brandon Schroeder, Christopher Boehm, Stephanie Kovar and husband Shane, T-Ray Sehon, Aubree Snipes and husband Johnathan, Emily Sonnier and husband Dillan, Daniel Eaves and Zephaniah Eaves; great-grandchildren, Kolby, Chase, Kyle, Maddox, Memphis, Miles, Weston, and Walker; sister, Cheryl Deiss; nephew Ryan Deiss and wife Emily, as well as numerous other loving family and friends.
Services will be held under the direction of Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.
