Kate Callihan Roach

Kate Callihan Roach, 100, a longtime resident of Orange, passed away Sunday, September 9, 2007 at Jones-Harrison Residence in Minneapolis.
Funeral Service will be at 10:00 a.m., Friday, September 14, 2007 at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Interment will follow at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Orange.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m., Thursday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Roach was born in New Orleans, LA on January 26, 1907. She was the daughter of the late Frances Adelia Bolton and Littleton Lee Callihan. Several years later her parents moved to Texas, where she grew up on a farm near Luling with her four sisters and two brothers.
After graduating from Southwest Texas State Teachers College, she moved to Orange in 1927 to teach at Winfree School.
Kate married Fenwick Eustis Roach called "Eustis? by his aunts and "Bobby" by everyone else in 1944.
Their son Tom was born in 1947. She taught second grade at George D. Jones Elementary School from 1952 until her retirement in 1970.
Mrs. Roach is preceded in death by her husband, Fenwick Eustis Roach, by her two brothers and four sisters, and is survived by her son Thomas Eustis Roach and by Timothy Martin Nix, whom she loved as her own, both of Golden Valley, MN.
