Katherine Marie Conley, 66, of Bridge City, Texas, passed away on December 25, 2018 in Port Arthur, Texas.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 30, 2018 at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange, Texas. Visitation will precede the service beginning at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
Born in Houston, Texas, on July 1, 1952, Katherine was the daughter of John Ralph Wheeler and Essley (McBride) Wheeler. Known to many as Kathy, Ms. Kathy, Mrs. Conley, Mom, and to her grandkids, Nanny. Whatever you called her, she answered and was there to talk when you needed to. Katherine was the conduit that brought you up-to-date on the people you had in common and always had a story to tell or a memory to share.
When she wasn’t talking to someone on the phone, she was schooling someone in a hand of Rummy or watching her favorite shows - I Love Lucy, Walker Texas Ranger or anything with The Rock in it.
Katherine held dear the friends she made while supporting her children in all they were involved in and was well known at their sporting events. She loved her grandchildren with all she had and cherished the time she was able to spend with them.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Essley Wheeler; her loving husband of 31 years, Robert Conley; and recently her eldest niece, Belinda Buck.
Katherine is survived by her children, Robbie Conley and Glenn Mayeda of Los Angeles, CA, John Conley of Austin, Sandra Brewer of Texas City, and Regina Conley of Bridge City; grandchildren, Cody and Palwi Stephens, Weston, Michael, and Morgan; brothers, Ralph Wheeler and Randall Wheeler; brother-in-law, Gator Conley; cousins, Jr. and Penny McBride; nieces and nephews, Brandi Stroope, Randy, Brandon, Marty, and Kate Wheeler; and numerous other loving family and friends.
Many loved her, but she loved them more.
Condolences

Aunt Kathy was the best Godmother anyone could wish for, and I feel so blessed to call her mine. She was so loving, so generous, so kind, so fun, and just so cool. She always saw the good in people, she always saw the bright side, and she always gave the best advice. I am so grateful for her, I loved her so much, and I sure am going to miss her. Her family are all in my prayers, especially her children and grandchildren- she loved them all so fiercely.
