Obituary
Katherine was an active member of St. Mary’s Church and was a devout Catholic. She volunteered weekly at adoration with a genuine servant’s heart. Katherine also enjoyed helping in her local community by volunteering her time for local elections, and she was also involved in founding the Deweyville Public Library. Katherine loved her family wholeheartedly and led her siblings in planning large family reunions for many years. Katherine’s children, grand children, and great-grandchildren were her world and she loved spending every moment she could with them. She also enjoyed traveling, reading, and shopping. Katherine was a compassionate, empathetic, and selfless woman who always conducted herself with class and grace. Katherine will be dearly missed by many and her impact on others will continue to live on.
Katherine was preceded in death by her father, John, and her mother, Mary as well as twelve brothers and sisters: Johnie Hryhorchuk, Roselee Bergstresser, Lorena Doyle, Vincent Hryhorchuk, Eugene Hryhorchuk, Adolph Hryhorchuk, Stephina Burton, Tommy Hryhorchuk, Butch Hryhorchuk, Nicholina Cappel, Bessie Hryhorchuk and Steven Hryhorchuk.
She is survived by her husband, George Mason; son, Michael Mason; daughter, Cheryl Mason Greathouse; daughter, Nikol Berry and husband, Kenneth Berry; grand children, Marilee Brinson and husband, Daniel Brinson; Karlee Parkhurst and husband, Brac Parkhurst; Skilar Miranda and husband, Drake Miranda; Madyson Berry; and John Michael Mason. Great-grandchildren, Harper, Scarlett and Jax Miranda, and Elliott Kate Brinson.
Visitation will be held at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange, Texas on Thursday, June 30, 2022 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., where a rosary will be said in her honor at 7:00pm. Funeral services will be held at St. Mary Catholic Church in Orange, Texas on Friday, July 1, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. Graveside memorial will immediately follow funeral services at Deweyville Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be Kenneth Berry, Thomas Burton, Bill Hryhorchuk, Daniel Brinson, Brac Parkhurst, and Drake Miranda. Honorary pallbearers are Michael Mason, Mike Hryhorchuk, and John Hryhorchuk.
