Katherine Mertice Rush

Katherine Mertice Rush, 86, died on November 18, 2008. Funeral services will be on Friday, November 21, 2008, at 10:00 a.m. at the North Orange Baptist Church with Rev. Scott McIntosh and Dr. Larry Lormand officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves.
Visitation will be from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 20, 2008, at the Claybar Funeral Home's temporary location at 1408 W. Park Ave in Orange.
Mrs. Rush was born on November 29, 1921, to Ernest Edward and Altha Roquigney Schroeter and worked at Texaco and Lakeview Baptist Church as a secretary and bookkeeper. She loved to crochet baby blankets and craft her own cards and spending time with her family.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her sister Lou Dailey and her grandson Jasan Wood. She is survived by her husband, William 'Percy' Rush; her two daughters, Connie Wood and husband Daniel of Orange and Linda Huebel and husband Charles of Bridge City; her grandson Jared Wood of Houston and two sisters, Alvina Day of Houston and Mary Pierce of Port Arthur.
