Kathryn Lyn Stelly, 59, of Jasper and longtime resident of Orange County, passed away on April 29, 2022, at her home surrounded by family.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 4, 2022, at the Cowboy Church of Orange County. Officiating will be Reverend Dale Lee. Burial will follow at Ebenezer Cemetery in Jasper, Texas.
Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 3, 2022 at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.
Born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, on September 15, 1962, she was the daughter of James and Billie Rae Stelly. Kathy attended West Orange Stark High School and then college at LSU before graduating from Lamar in Beaumont with her Bachelor’s Degree. She worked in several Walmart Stores around Southeast Texas for 20 years before retiring as Assistant Manager. Kathy was a long time, faithful member of the Cowboy Church of Orange County. She was very active in the Sabine Chapter and Mid County Chapter of the Ducks Unlimited Organization helping in the conservation of local wetlands. Kathy always enjoyed “catching” fish at the lake, if there was no catching to be done you could find her taking a spin on the golfcart or watching her favorite football team the LSU Tigers. Kathy also liked to fill her time with crafting, painting, and loving on her animals. She was truly loved by those that knew her and she will be deeply missed by all her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Billie Stelly.
She is survived by her loving husband, Paul Henry; sister, Jamye Martin and husband Joe of Orange; sister-in-law, Pam Denson and husband Jim of Vidor; nieces and nephews, Clint Martin of Kerrville, Ryan Martin of Bridge City, Ashley Wooters of Geismar, Louisiana, Justin Denson and Zack Denson both of Vidor; along with numerous great-nieces and nephews and one great-great niece.
