Kay Amelia Moore

Kay Amelia Robertson Moore died October 22, 2008. Born March 25, 1937, in Cushing, Oklahoma. She graduated from Cushing High School and attended Central State College in Edmond, Oklahoma. Kay married Maurice "Bob" Moore January 30, 1973, in San Antonio, TX. They were loving partner-parents for all nine of "their children." Kay was an accomplished musician. She served as choir director/organist in many churches, most recently at St. Alban's Episcopal in Austin, TX and then at St. John's Episcopal in Silsbee, TX. Before the age of ten, Kay performed a piano solo for then President Dwight D. Eisenhower. She had worked as a paralegal for more than 15 years in Austin prior to the death of her husband and her subsequent move to Beaumont, TX. Kay had a marvelous sense of humor and a talent for making friends, many lasting from her childhood. She leaves a legacy of warmth and love from all of her friends and all of those with whom she worked.

She is survived by her seven sons and daughter: son, Robert Paige Moore and his wife Linda of Sanger, TX; son, Nick Moore and wife Alma of Austin, TX; son, Michael McDonald Moore and wife Allison, of Jacksonville, Fl; son, Dean Walton Moore of Clover, SC; daughter Paula Kay PK Moore of Beaumont, TX; son, Gary Franklin Cabaniss of Arlington, TX; son, Christopher Owen Moore and wife Lilice of Oklahoma City, OK. She is also survived by her sister, Phyllis Robertson Flake of Oklahoma City, OK; and sister-in-law Bonnie Moore Dayton of Oklahoma City, OK.

She was preceded in death by her husband Maurice "Bob" Moore, her parents Paul Edward and Thelma King Robertson; and son, Michael George Moore.

Honorary pallbearers: granddaughter and grandsons – Maren Moore, Justin Moore, Jake Moore, Steven Moore, Matthew Moore, Joshua Cabaniss, Daniel Cabaniss, Phillip Cabaniss, Aharen Richardson, Adrian Moreland, goddaughter Taylor Bedingfield and godson Tyler Matthew Norman, and long time friend, Chris Peek.

Memorial services will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 25, 2008, at St. Christopher's Episcopal Church, 8724 Travis Hills Dr., Austin, TX. Celebrant will be the Reverend John Bedingfield, assisted by the Reverend Lex Breckinridge IV, and Reverend Bo Townsend.
