Obituary
Keith Slaughter, 60, of Orange, passed away on November 15, 2014, at Baptist Hospital in Beaumont.
A graveside service will be 1:00pm, Wednesday, November 19, 2014, at Autumn Oaks Cemetery in Orange. Officiating will be his nephew Wesley Smith.
Visitation will be at 5:00pm, Tuesday, November 18th, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.
Born in Wichita Falls, Texas, on November 12, 1954, he was the son of Albert Martin Slaughter and Margaret Elizabeth (Francisco) Slaughter. Keith worked as a truck driver for Montgomery Tank Lines. He was raised in Graham, Texas and graduated from Graham High School in 1973. Keith enjoyed fishing, mowing grass, and working on old cars. He loved to spoil his three dogs, Lily, D. J., and Gracie.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Margaret Slaughter; daughter, Mandy Slaughter; and his mother and father-in-law, Choyce and Jacque Brown.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Brenda Slaughter; son, Mike Slaughter of Orange; grandchildren, Nicole Slaughter and Meri Menard; great-granddaughter, Sophie Luckey; sister and brother-in-laws, Nancy and husband, Roland Champagne, Paula Hodge, Sandra and husband, David Smith; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Well, it's been a couple of months now since you've been gone. I miss you so much. It's hard to think of your passing. I still drive up and look for you outside, then go in the house and expect you to be there. And yes, I still need you to work on my jeep. I'm taking good care of your babies, DJ, Gracie, and Lily. They don't sleep with me though. Sorry. Shasta misses you. Angel bit me(Brenda got her riled up). I'm trying to take care of Brenda also. You were right, she is stubborn as a mule. Say hello to Momma and Daddy for me. Love you

Keith was a unique personality. He loved animals, playing 42, and visiting with his extended family. He had a wry sense of humor. When he still working, he was gone most of the time, out on the interstate highways delivering goods through the trucking system. He loved his job, and he always had a little dog with him to keep him company. After he retired, we got used to his being home. We will miss him now because he was always there for us. God Bless and Keep You, Keith.
