Born in Barsto, California, on October 15, 1957, he was the son of Eldon Ezekial Smith and Belva Lois Quebodeaux Smith. Keith had a big personality and was known for his exuberant spirit, his infectious humor, and his profound capacity for kindness. Keith had a deep love of music. He possessed a remarkable talent for singing, holding back porch concerts and bringing joy to those around him. His boisterous personality ensured that he never met a stranger; he welcomed everyone into his life with open arms and an open heart. As a social butterfly, Keith thrived in the company of others, creating lasting bonds and treasured memories. He was a steadfast provider who placed family first and worked tirelessly to ensure the security for his family. He was an avid fisherman, and he had an exceptional knack for cooking and was particularly famous for his barbecue and crawfish boils, which brought friends and family together in celebration. His generosity extended beyond the kitchen as he often put the needs of others before his own wherever he was, embodying the spirit of selflessness and compassion. Above all, Keith cherished the moments spent with his grandson, who lovingly called him "Pawpaw." Keith lived a life full of laughter and love, and his legacy will continue to inspire those he leaves behind. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Eldon and Belva Smith; and his brothers, Ray Smith and Ross Smith.

"Keith Smith was truly one of the good ones. I first met Keith about 15 years ago when He, Becca, Lil Layla , Kristy, and I shared a condo in Destin for a summer getaway. We had a blast, and it was there that I saw firsthand his passion for fishing and grilling. More than anything, I remember his infectious laugh, his 'big ole grin,' and his naturally happy demeanor. He was simply a joy to be around. We worked together in the petrochemical industry many times over the years. I witnessed his stellar work ethic and sharp attention to detail; Keith was an exceptional Inspector who took great pride in his craft. Throughout the industry—especially in Southeast Texas—he was well known for his integrity and excellence in Quality Assurance. But through the candid conversations we shared over the years, I know one thing for certain: more than his boat, more than fishing, and far more than his career, Keith loved Rebecca. He loved his kids and He loved Little Miss Laya' more than anything in this world. While I am incredibly saddened by his passing, I’m encouraged by the bravery he showed throughout his long battle and by the way he lived his life and loved to the fullest. May you rest in peace Sir. You will be missed dearly. Quentin N.
