Oh, I can only imagine…
how you would be so uncomfortable with the attention…
the silky dresses and the seldom used sport coat…
the fresh flowers and their fragrant scents.
I can imagine your embarrassment of the cards of sympathy and the tissues used to dry dampened eyes.
You would not like to be the subject of stories told and memories kept.
You were a quiet man.
Respectful and respected.
Loved by many and really known by few.
We say our goodbyes for now.
Your time on this earth now gone.
But know that you are still with me.
The memories are forever etched in my mind and heart.
To most, we were brothers. But we know that we were much more than that.
I will miss my friend… my councelor… my confidant. Til we meet on the other side…
