Kittie Herrin Manley was born on October 31, 1923, to Thomas and Clayton Herrin in Hull-Daisetta, TX
Graduated from Orange High School in 1940
Received a BS in Secretarial Science from Southwestern Louisiana Institute in 1944
Married Charles Lawrence Manley, Sr. on September 8, 1946 in Lafayette, LA
Died: July 29, 2011 ? Beaumont, TX

She is survived by her husband, two sons: Charles Lawrence Manley, Jr.,& Thomas Patrick Manley, two daughters: Laurel Ann Manley Rodgers & Clay Gene Manley and their families consisting of 5 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

The Manley?s came to Beaumont in 1973 and started their own business.

Kittie was a 1976 charter member of the Golden Neches chapter of Sweet Adelines.

She became involved with the Beaumont Community Players both acting and supporting. It was said that during her 25 year involvement with the BCP she acted in more plays than any other performer. She was a Life Member.

She played the Grandmother in the Beaumont Civic Ballet production of ?The Nutcracker? several years during the 80?s.

She helped form and direct the Happy Steppers, a senior ladies dancing group out of the Best Years Center here in Beaumont. Performing at local nursing homes and festivals helped prepare them for winning a 1st place division honor at a Las Vegas competition.

The Manley?s are members of St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church.

A memorial service will be held Wednesday, August 10, 2011 at 6:00 p.m. at St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church, 6825 Gladys St. Beaumont, Texas.
