Lainey McSween Grimes Barnes

Lainey McSween Grimes Barnes, 86 of Silsbee, formerly of Beaumont and Lumberton, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on December 22, 2007, at Silsbee Oaks Nursing Home in Silsbee. She was born on March 21, 1921, in Angelina County to A.E. and Lucy McSween. She was preceded in death by her husband, J. W. Grimes and subsequently married Howard F. Barnes.
Mrs. Barnes leaves cherished memories to her husband, Howard F. Barnes; son, Jerry Grimes of Amarillo, TX; daughter and son-in-law, Judy and David Lewis of Lumberton; sons and daughters-in-law, Mark and Jean Grimes of Huntington Beach, CA and Steve and Wanda Grimes of Beach City, TX; eight grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and numerous relatives and friends.
The family will receive visitors at Claybar Kelley-Watkins Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 26 from 5:00 ? 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 27 at 10:00 a.m. at Parkway Life Church in Lumberton with Rev. C.S. Davis and Harold Martin officiating. Interment will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the Rockland Cemetery in Rockland, TX.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial donations may be made to the Tupelo Children?s Mansion in care of Parkway Life Church, PO Box 8586, Lumberton, TX 77657.
