Larry ‘Wayne’ Choate, 86, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 6, 2023, at The Harbor Hospice Home in Beaumont, Texas.

Larry was born on December 25th, 1936, in New Iberia, Louisiana, to Alphonse Harry Choate and Hilda Mae Meaux- Choate. Larry then later moved to Prairie View, now Bridge City, Texas. He was a graduate of Stark High Tigers class of 1955. Larry was a retired Air Force Military Police and is a standing member of the Iron Workers Local 125-135 since 1963. Larry truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures; spending time with his grandchildren, chatting with friends and family, snacking on his peanut M&Ms, and always finding something to tinker with.

Larry is survived by his son Narry Wayne Choate of wife, Novella Fontenot-Choate, grandson Colby Narry Wayne Choate and wife Jennifer McManus-Choate, granddaughter Landry Renee Choate and fiancé Kyle Deleon, and great granddaughter Raegan Lynn Choate, the daughter of Colby and Jennifer Choate. Brother Robert ‘Al’ Choate, wife Linda ‘Gail’ Choate, nieces, and nephews. Stepchildren from Novella Fontenot- Choate, Neville Thomas and wife, Neal Hargrave and wife, Nardis Bodenheimer and husband, Nicole ‘Nikki’ Glass and husband, along with numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Larry is predeceased by his mother and father, Hilda and Alphonse Choate.

Larry will be deeply missed by his family, friends and all who knew him.

“To know him, was to love him.”
There will be no funeral arrangements per Larrys wishes. Please give the family and friends time to grieve the loss of such a great man.
