Larry Jackson Potter, Sr.
Larry Potter, Sr., 74, of Sulphur, passed away on July 30, 2021, in Lake Charles.
Funeral services will be 6:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 4, 2021, at Claybar Funeral Home in Bridge City.
Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., Wednesday, at Claybar Funeral Home in Bridge City.
Cremation will be held under the direction of Claybar Funeral Home.
Born in Fairhope, Alabama, on August 24, 1946, he was the son of Daniel Potter and Dorothy (Trent) Potter. Larry was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and was always there for anyone who needed him. He proudly served our country in the United States Army distinguished with several medals throughout his service. He was a hard working man, working as a mechanic for many years and able to fix anything. He then went on to work as a table game supervisor at Isle of Capri in his later years. He enjoyed playing golf, shooting guns, and loved to take his sons fishing when they were growing up. Larry had a good sense of humor, always able to put a smile on your face but never failing to lovingly pick on you. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Daniel and Dorothy Potter.
He is survived by his sons, Larry Potter, Jr. and wife Charlotte of Bridge City, Jason Potter of Bridge City, and Jon’d Potter and wife Heather of Beaumont; grandchildren, Dylan, Katelyn, Luke, Haley, Jake, Isabel, Van, and Jonah; great-grandchild, Waylon; sibling, John Potter, Michael Potter, and Allen Potter; mother of his children, Gayle Potter; and dear friend, Hahn Nguyen.
