Larry Michael Webb

1950 ∼ 2025

Larry Michael Webb, beloved father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully at home on May 4, 2025, at 3:12 p.m., surrounded by the family he cherished. He was 74 years old.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, May 10, 2025, at Claybar Funeral Home in Bridge City, Texas.

Visitation will begin prior to the service at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, May 10, 2025, at Claybar Funeral Home in Bridge City, Texas.

Born in Bryan, Texas, on November 12, 1950, Larry came into the world as Larry Michael Parks, son of Oliver Jordan and Bess Parks. After the passing of both parents at a young age, Larry was adopted by Edna and Hartwell Webb, who gave him the name that he carried for the remainder of his life.

At the age of 17, Larry joined the United States Marine Corps. From 1967 to 1970, he served honorably and was stationed in Okinawa, Japan. After returning home, he attended Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas, where he earned his CPA degree and began a long career in accounting. He worked for Burley and McClelland CPA firm before starting his own successful business. He loved what he did and made many lifelong friends through his profession.

In April 1969, Larry married Jeanie Townsend, beginning a life filled with devotion to his family. He is survived by their three children:

Melissa Webb Ferrand and her husband Patrick, along with their children Madeleine, Hayden, and Carson.

Stephanie Webb Rasch and her husband David, along with their children Abigail, Luke, Teddy, and Kate.

Michael Parks Webb and his children Carolina, Colton, and Catherine.

He is also survived by his brother: James Floyd Webb, his wife, Valerie; their daughter Kimberly and her husband Tom Putnam; his niece Barbara Zoufalik and her husband, Rene.

Larry (“Pops”) was known for his enormous heart, quick wit, and ability to connect with everyone he met—he truly never met a stranger. He adored his children and grandchildren more than life itself and never missed an opportunity to be present at their birthday parties, recitals, and sporting events. He was always the first to arrive, often showing up hours earlier than the festivities began.

On March 14, 2025, Larry wholeheartedly and joyfully surrendered his life to Christ and was baptized in his home in Kountze, Texas.

He loved the Beatles, collecting classic cars, firearms, and eventually fulfilling a lifelong dream of owning his own airplane. On May 2, 2015, Larry survived a nearly fatal plane crash. There were no guarantees he would live or even walk again, but through sheer will, he was walking unassisted two months later. It was this strong will and ability do accomplish anything he set his mind to that compelled some to call him “Superman.” His family was blessed to spend another ten years and two days with him—a gift they will forever cherish.

In 2021 Larry was diagnosed with pulmonary fibrosis. After being admitted to the ICU on April 9, 2025, he returned home on hospice care on May 3 and spent his final hours surrounded by love. He passed peacefully with his children and family members at his side while listening to The Beatles. His legacy will forever live on in the lives he touched and the family he treasured.

The world was a better place with Pops in it. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered. Semper Fi, Superman.

Larry's service will be livestream for those who can not make it to the service. The link will be listed on his obituary on the Claybar Funeral Home website.
