Mrs. Blackwell had a huge impact on me and my life as my seventh grade teacher in 1967 at Immaculate Conception School in Groves. My life long love of reading I attribute directly to all the encouragement i received from her. I also still remember the prayer of Saint Francis after writing it 500 times when on one of the many occasions i thought I had something "smart" to say she had me write it. "What is good makes no noise, noise does no good!! She was just a great example of what a caring teacher should always be. My years under the guidance and direction of the sisters of Saint Joseph and the great lay staff of which Mrs. Blackwell was an exemplary example are some of the best of my life. Thoughts and prayers for her family as I know she will be missed!! Mike McGee

I remember Mrs. Blackwell from Immaculate Conception School in Groves. I was in her class for 7th grade, my last year of parochial school. I remember her being firm, but kind. May she rest in the peace of Christ. :pensive:
