Laura Hazel Jones Stebly

March 29, 1938 — June 5, 2012

Laura Hazel Jones Stebly, 74, ended her battle with cancer June 5th, 2012 at her home with her family surrounding her. Laura Hazel was born to RC Jones and Juanita Thomas Jones on March 29, 1938 in Nashville Georgia.

A memorial service celebrating her life will be held Monday, June 11, 2012 at 6:15 p.m. in the Word of LIfe Church, 344 Broadway, in Winnie, Texas. Reverend J. T. Carnell and Reverend Lionel Leday will officiate. Visitation will from 4-6:00 p.m. at the church.

Laura Hazel lived in the Fannett and Winnie area for the last 25 years where she attended and was a member of The Word of Life Church in Winnie.

Her hobbies included crocheting; reading; gardening; fishing; re-decorating; volunteering at the local nursing homes and going to garage sales. She really enjoyed going out to eat; traveling; and having family gatherings.

In her later years, because of illnesses, she didn't get to enjoy her hobbies as much but she did find a new passion with the computer. She started her own tagging group and had many friends in the tagging community. She spent a lot of time on her porch enjoying the scenery of her flowers and plants. She was saved & Baptized in 1980 in Pascogoula Miss.

Her home and heart were always in South Georgia where she lived prior to coming to Texas. Her children will be taking her cremated remains back to Georgia at a later date where they will have a grave-side memorial service for family and friends. It will held at Vickers Cemetery in Nashville Georgia. Rev. Steve Jones will officiate at the service.

She is survived by her siblings, Jenesta "Jenny" McLendon and Darrell Jones; 4 children, Cynthia Conger Harper & Jerry McCullough & David Bayreuther, Belinda Bayreuther Breaux & husband Robert, JT Carnell & wife Dianne; 10 grandchildren, Sonya Harper Patterson, Jimmy Dupree, Justin Bayreuther, Lacey Bayreuther, Nathan Bayreuther, Summer Breaux Fear, Autumn Breaux Minton, Jamie Carnell Esser, Seth Carnell, Kimberlee Carnell Thomas and
19 great-grandchildren.

Many thanks to everyone for their prayers and support to her and the family.

In lieu of flowers, friends who wish may direct memorial contributions to either Texas Home Health Hospice in Beaumont or The Word of Life Church building fund in Winnie.
