I know this is very late Charlene, but I felt the need to say something after our talk yesterday. I didnt know LA like the others who left comments here, I meet LA back in 89 when I thought I was going to make my millions selling cars. The company hired 5 young green hands, me being one, then stuck LA with us & well you get the picture. LA had his work cut out for him but it never seemed to bother him. LA & I just hit it off from the start & even after I quit just a few months after starting I always stayed in touch & he made sure to keep me up to date on where he was working. I started buying a new truck every year from 1990 to 2004 & LA sold me every one. I followed LA all over Sth Est TX to buy from him, just glad he was always selling Fords. He always keep a smile on my face or laughing until my side split but that was just LA. I bought my last trk in 04 because prices were getting crazy but LA sold that one to me & I'm still driving it today. It wasnt only business, the rest of the time with him was just fun!!! I've been to just about every placed he lived & after he told me he had married, he invited me to meet Charlene, a very sweet woman who must have a strong will... to marry LA. LOL Once at his house he had me hanging ceiling fans which knowing LA I think was the reason for the invite. I lost touch with him when my parents got sick but I never forgot about him. I just ran across his ph number 2 days ago & when I called I was shocked to hear Charlene say he passed away over a year ago. I have to say he was a great friend & I do miss him. Its funny that with 20 yrs of history between us I never knew what LA stood for until now, But that didn't matter for he was always LA to me & a man you could count on. Charlene, if you get this, I dont know if you know how happy you made him & Im glad he had such a sweet woman by his side when he passed!!! Rest In Peace My Good Friend. Eric Dace, Silsbee TX

I've known LA since first grade. In fourth grade, he drew my name at Christmas. His mother asked my mother what did I like, Mama's reply was "Julie likes to read." LA gave me the book, Black Beauty, which became one of my favorite books from my childhood. RIP, my friend.
