Leo C. LaBauve, Jr.

December 26, 1926 — November 30, 2010

Leo C. LaBauve, Jr., 83, of Orange, passed away Tuesday, November 30, 2010, at Harbor Hospice in Beaumont.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, December 4, 2010, at Claybar Funeral Home Chapel in Orange. Officiating will be Reverend Randy Branch of Wesley United Methodist Church. A graveside service will follow at Orange Forest Lawn Cemetery in West Orange.

Visitation will be from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Friday, at the funeral home in Orange.

Born in Beaumont on December 26, 1926, Leo was the son of Leo Clent LaBauve, Sr. and Lottie Ewing Thibodeaux. Leo served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and worked in the new and used automobile sales business for 40 years. He was quite the athlete at many sports, a top notch fast pitch softball pitcher and very high scoring bowler. Leo's passion was golf, where he was a low handicap player, successfully negotiating seven hole-in-ones over his golfing span. He also had a passion for flying and owned and operated numerous planes. He loved his church family at Wesley United Methodist Church in Orange.

Leo is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Mary; daughters, Sandra Block and husband, Jay of Orange, Sherry Godwin and husband, Joe of Athens, Debra McMillan and husband, Ronald Mac of Orange; son, Leo C. LaBauve III and wife, Victoria of Bridge City; and step-sons, Donald Stanley of Ava, Missouri, and James T. Stanley of Bridge City.

He is also survived by his grandchildren, Kacey Presley, Rodney Godwin, Leo C. LaBauve IV, and Enola Brown; step-grandchildren, Makin Leddford, Mason Stanley, Stormy Stanley, Tyrell Boutte, and Brianca Herring; numerous great-grandchildren and other loving family and friends.

Serving as Pallbearers will be Leo LaBauve III, Leo LaBauve IV, Rodney Godwin, Joe Godwin, Ronald McMillan and Douglas McDaniel.
