Leon T. Bingham, 84, of Orange, passed away Friday, November 16, 2007 at his residence.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m., Monday, November 19, 2007, at Claybar Funeral Home Chapel in Orange. Officiating will be Reverend Lynn Ashcraft and Reverend Scott McIntosh.
Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Orange.
Visitation will be from 5:00-9:00 p.m., Sunday, at Claybar Funeral Home.
Leon was born on March 21, 1923, in Deweyville. He was the son of Leon A. and Lillie Mae Neal Bingham. He was a member of VFW, North Orange Baptist Church for 61 years where he was a Deacon, Bancroft School Board, and Orange County School Board. He was one of the founders of Orange County Little League. He was also a veteran of World War II as a U.S. Navy Aviator.
He was preceded in death by his son, Bruce Bingham, Sr.; brother, Leroy Bingham; and parents, Leon and Lillie Mae Bingham.
Survivors include his wife, Lola Bingham; sons and daughters-in-law, James E. Bingham and Deb of Lincoln City, OR, and Jeffery Thomas and Mary of Bridge City; daughter, Lillie Mae Gray of Dallas, OR; grandchildren, Bruce Bingham, Jr. of Hurst, TX, Nona Revia of Orange, Tracy Couder of Orangefield, Jason Bingham of Mauriceville, Aaron Bingham of Lincoln, OR, Trent Bingham of Lebanon, OR, Kendra Noveau of Monmouth, OR, Ben Gray of LaGrande, OR, and Alex Bingham of Bridge City. He is also survived by his brother, Mervin E. Bingham and step-sister, Rusty Nicks.
Serving as pallbearers are Chic Collins, Guy Collins, Billy Bickham, Don Jenkins, Alan Cormier, and Louis Willey.
Serving as honorary pallbearers are the deacons at North Orange Baptist church.
