Leta Marie Walters, 47, of Evadale, Texas, passed away on December 31, 2018, at her home.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, January 6, 2019, at Claybar Funeral Home in Bridge City, Texas. Officiating will be Reverend C.W. Lawrence. Burial will follow the service at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Orange, Texas.
Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Saturday, January 5, 2019, at Claybar Funeral Home in Bridge City, Texas.
Born on January 18, 1971, she was the daughter of Dwayne Irven Meurer and Lynelle Gay (Ford) Meurer. Leta was a member of Wiley Mae Community Baptist Church and spent many years working in the secretarial and accounting field. She was a very devoted mother and grandmother and a true and dear friend to many. Her natural beauty touched all those she came across, flowing throughout her warm spirit. Leta was passionate about all animals, especially her horses and she enjoyed barrel racing and attending rodeos with her daughter Makinley. She will be dearly missed by all those who came to know and love her.
Leta was preceded in death by grandparents, Irven and Joan Meurer, Leona Gotreaux Meurer, and Ophelia Ford.
Leta is survived by her parents, Dwayne and Lynelle Meurer, of Orange; loving husband, Ronnie Walters, of Evadale; children, Dalton Walters and wife Kadie, of Buna, Dylon Walters and wife Makenna, of Buna, Makinley Walters, of Evadale, and Gracie Martin, of Nederland; grandchildren, Paisley Kate Walters and Dylon Kade Walters; grandfather, J.T. Ford, of Orange; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
