Lillie Ethel McGuire, 83, of Orange, died Tuesday, April 5, 2011, in Vidor.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, April 7, 2011, at Claybar Funeral Home in Bridge City. Officiating will be Reverend Paul Fregia of Pecan Acres Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens near Bridge City.
Visitation will be from 6:00-9:00 p.m., Wednesday at the funeral home.
Born in Orange, Texas on February 10, 1928, Lillie was the daughter of Henry and Ester Shepherd Hare. She attended Baylor University and worked as a substitute teacher at Orangefield ISD. She was also a member of the Eastern Star. She was a loving wife and mother, and she especially loved her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Ester Hare; and daughter, Charlotte Fitts.
Lillie is survived by her husband, Edgar McGuire of Bridge City; sons, Kenneth McGuire and wife Sandy of Bridge City, David McGuire, Sr. and Linda Bowlin of Timpson, James McGuire and wife Connie of Corsicana; daughter, Barbara Irvine and husband Jerry of Vidor; son-in-law, Larry Fitts of Bridge City; 8 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
She is also survived by her brothers, Tom Hare, Alton Hare, Van E. Hare, and George Hare, all of Orange; and sister, Karen Ratcliff, also of Orange.
Serving as Pallbearers will be Jerry Irvine, Joshua Irvine, David McGuire, Jr., Larry Fitts, Brian Fitts, and Alan Fitts. Honorary Pallbearer will be Steven McGuire.
