Linda Dianne Wright Peet (76) passed gracefully into eternal life after an extended illness, on Monday, December 2, 2019 in Port Arthur, Texas. She was surrounded by family members who were remembering what a happy, loving, and sweet woman she was.
Linda was born June 16, 1943, the third child of Albert and Miriam Wright of Mobile, Alabama. The Wright family moved to Orange, Texas when Linda was a child and she later graduated from Lutcher Stark High School in 1961. Linda married the love of her life, Charles David (Bubba) Peet, June 17, 1961. They had 2 sons, Chuck and Drew, and made their home together in Orange for 30 years until Bubba passed away in 1991. Linda was a bookkeeper and tax preparer who began her 30 year career at H&R Block. She moved on to Beaumont Tax Service and later owned and operated Reliable Bookkeeping Service for many years until she retired.
Linda was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend to many. Her bright spirit and wonderful smile will be greatly missed by those she left behind. She was generous, full of life, and dearly loved her family and friends, and she will be especially remembered for her beautiful smile and infectious laugh.
Left behind to cherish her memory are: her son, Drew Peet, and his wife Kris; grandsons, Tyler Peet and Cullen Peet; granddaughter, Jessica Peet; great-granddaughter, Huntley “Rory” Peet; brother, Alvin Wright and his wife Shirley; sister, Sylvia Smith; sister in law, Karolyn Fruge; and many special nephews, nieces, and cousins.
Linda was preceded in death by her husband Charles (Bubba) Peet, her son Charles (Chuck) Peet Jr, and her parents Albert and Miriam Wright.
Please join us for a celebration of Linda’s life 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 6, 2019 at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange, with Pastor Kevin Inman officiating. Graveside services and burial to follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Orange. Visitation will be held prior to the service, beginning at 1:00 p.m. at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.
